In Chitrakoot district, the police team that had come to catch truck robbers had an encounter with the miscreants. Two miscreants and a constable were injured in the firing from both sides. After this the police caught six miscreants. The injured criminal and constable have been admitted to the district hospital. Three pistols, car, truck and other items used in robbery have been recovered from the possession of the miscreants. All the miscreants are residents of Pratapgarh district against whom many cases of vehicle theft and robbery are already registered in many districts.
On Tuesday late night, SP sent SOG and police team of the police station on the presence of some miscreants in a car near the fire station of Rajapur town of the district. As soon as the police team caught three youths in the car at around 2 o’clock in the night. Police interrogated him after finding truck documents and pistols in the car. The miscreants, Shoyab, resident of Tala Bazar police station, Dilippur Pratapgarh, Kalim, resident of New Goods Warehouse, East Sahodarpur district, Pratapgarh, and Dhananjay Singh, resident of Jagtipur Antu Pratapgarh, admitted that on the night of March 8, they had looted a truck from Prayagraj and were going to sell it in Madhya Pradesh area. .
As soon as the police team moved forward about two kilometers to recover the truck, three miscreants traveling in the truck opened fire on the police team. Due to this the police team also retaliated. As soon as the information about the encounter with the miscreants was received, the SP also reached the spot late in the night. Constable Prakash Mishra of Rajapur police station was shot in his left hand after 10 rounds of firing from both sides for about 40 minutes. Two miscreants Mohd. resident of Kanshiram Colony Kotwali Pratapgarh. Shahid and Mehtab Ahmed, resident of Gopalpur police station, Dilippur district, Pratapgarh, were shot in the leg. Meanwhile, gang leader Saurabh Tripathi alias Rahul, resident of Dalihamau police station district Pratapgarh, started running away and police personnel caught him. A pistol and cartridges were recovered from the possession of all three. Policemen have admitted the injured constable and two miscreants to the district hospital for treatment. More than 24 cases are registered against them in many police stations of Kaushambi, Pratapgarh and Chitrakoot districts.
